Apollo pricing: the credit math, explained.
Apollo is genuinely the best price-to-breadth deal in prospecting, and we say so below. It is also the pricing model most likely to surprise you in month two. Here is how the plans, the new credit system and the fine print actually work, verified against Apollo's own pages.

Basic monthly billing appears to have moved from $59 to $69 sometime in 2026: multiple 2025-era guides list $59, the live page shows $69. Both add-ons are flagged "introductory pricing" on Apollo's page, meaning they may change.
How the credits actually work.
One pool, and everything drains it
New Apollo customers are on a unified credit system: one currency for everything. A verified email costs 1 credit. A phone number costs 8. Enrichment runs 1 to 8 per record (Apollo's own FAQ on the same page says "up to 9"). The US dialer costs 2 credits per minute of connected talk time, voicemails included, rounded up in 30-second increments. AI research runs, email warmup, job-change alerts, website-visitor identification and some API calls draw from the same pool.
The 8x phone multiplier is where budgets go to die
Basic's 30,000 annual credits sound enormous until you do phone math: spent entirely on numbers, that is 3,750 contacts a year, about 15 per working day, with nothing left for emails, enrichment or dialing. A single 30-minute dialer call costs 60 credits, the same as 60 verified emails. If your motion is phone-heavy, price the Professional tier at minimum and check the math again.
Annual plans grant everything upfront, and nothing rolls over
Annual billing grants the full year's credits on day one, so an enthusiastic first month can drain the pool with eleven months left on a contract you cannot refund. And per Apollo's own knowledge base: unused credits expire at the end of the billing cycle and do not roll over, on any plan.
Add-on credits have three traps of their own
All from Apollo's official documentation: add-on credit purchases recur, so you are rebilled every cycle unless you remove them. Mid-cycle purchases are charged in full, not prorated, and still expire at the end of the current cycle. And the per-credit price is only shown on the in-app slider, not published anywhere public, so you cannot budget it in advance.
Where Apollo is genuinely unbeatable.
A teardown that pretends Apollo is a bad deal would be lying to you. For the right team it is the best value in the category, and these are the reasons.
Five things to know before the card goes in.
1 · Two customers, same plan, different rules
Apollo is migrating existing customers from the old email, export and mobile credit pools to the unified system gradually. Until that finishes, advice from colleagues on legacy plans, including "unlimited email credits", may simply not apply to your account.
2 · Downgrades are immediate and non-refundable
Per Apollo's policies: plan and seat downgrades take effect immediately with no refund for the unused portion, cancellations only take effect at end of term, and sales-assisted accounts cannot self-cancel at all.
3 · The review-site split tells its own story
Apollo is 4.7 on G2 across roughly 9,700 reviews, and about 2.9 on Trustpilot across roughly 1,000. The G2 reviews are about the product, which is good. The Trustpilot reviews are dominated by billing: charges after cancellation, refund refusals, and add-on credits that kept recurring. Read both before you buy.
4 · Budget for list re-verification
The standing advice in sales communities is to run every Apollo export through a verifier like ZeroBounce or NeverBounce before sending; user-reported bounce rates on unverified exports vary widely, and US data is consistently reported stronger than EMEA and APAC. The credits you spend revealing a contact are separate from finding out the email was stale.
5 · The dialer you probably want is an add-on
Parallel dialing, power dialing, international calling and local presence live in a $149 per team per month Advanced Dialer add-on, not in any tier. The included US dialer also consumes pool credits at 2 per minute.
A 5-person outbound team, both ways.
The honest framing first: if your motion is high-volume cold outbound, hundreds of sends a day across warmed mailboxes, Apollo is built for that and Vesso is not. The comparison below is for teams where prospecting feeds a fuller GTM motion.
5 seats, annual billing, prospecting and outreach only
Before add-ons, verification tooling, and the CRM it syncs into.
5 active users, annual billing, the whole GTM workspace
Effective $203/mo with 2 months free. Credit costs published on our pricing page.
Both products meter data reveals with credits. The difference we will defend: every Vesso per-action price is published on our pricing page, allowances are listed per plan, packs are $49 per 1,000 and never expire, and recording, AI notes and prep briefs are never metered. Apollo's database is far larger than ours, and if raw contact volume is the job, that matters more.
Apollo pricing questions, answered.
How much does Apollo cost in 2026?
Per seat with annual billing: Free $0, Basic $49/mo, Professional $79/mo, Organization $119/mo with a 3-seat minimum and annual commitment. Monthly billing runs $69, $99 and $149. Verified from apollo.io/pricing on Aug 18, 2026.
Do Apollo credits roll over?
No. Apollo's own knowledge base states that unused credits expire at the end of the billing cycle and do not roll over, on any plan. Annual plans grant the full year's credits upfront, so pacing is on you.
Why do Apollo credits run out so fast?
Usually the phone multiplier: a phone number costs 8 credits against 1 for an email, and dialer minutes, enrichment, warmup and AI actions all drain the same pool. Teams doing phone-heavy outbound burn allowances several times faster than the email math suggests.
What changed in Apollo's pricing recently?
The big one is the unified credit system rolling out from late 2025: one metered pool replacing separate email, export and mobile credits, ending the "unlimited email credits" era for new customers. Basic monthly billing also appears to have moved from $59 to $69 during 2026, and parallel and power dialing moved into a $149/team/mo add-on.
Is Apollo worth it?
For high-volume outbound on a budget, honestly yes: nothing matches its price-to-breadth, and the free tier is real. Go in budgeting for list re-verification, watch the credit pool weekly, and read the cancellation terms before choosing annual billing.
How is Vesso different from Apollo?
Apollo is prospecting-first: a huge database with outreach bolted on, synced to a CRM you buy elsewhere. Vesso is workspace-first: CRM, meetings with unlimited recording and AI notes, cadences and built-in prospecting search in one product at $99 plus $29 per active user. Smaller database, published per-action credit prices, and no separate CRM bill. High-volume outbound shops should stay on Apollo; teams running a full GTM motion usually come out ahead consolidated.
Plan prices, credit costs, grant cadence, rollover policy and add-on terms were verified on Aug 18, 2026 from Apollo's live pricing page and official knowledge base. Bounce rates and support experiences are user-reported ranges from public communities and review sites, labeled as such above. Vesso figures are our published prices.
